Unfortunately I have a bad nights sleep and eventually have to get up early in the morning with what appears to be the start of a migrane.
It looks like a long day ahead as we don’t arrive until 11pm tonight. Breakfast and lunch go by without me and fortunately I am only very slowly getting worse but it doesn’t mean I’m happy by any means.
Mark has some sleeping pills which he offers me and I eventually figure I’m better off being asleep than just hanging around feeling terrible. They seem to work remarkably well as I drop off immediately and don’t wake for about 2 hours. Surprisingly this seems to have “got me over the hump” and I’m starting to recover.
I decide to spend the next couple of hours in the observation car where I can sit in some seats which actually face the window so I don’t have to keep turning my head to look out the window.
It’s starting to get cold enough at these altitudes that there is finally some snow on the ground.
The train makes quite a few stops along this route and my favourite is “Grand Junction” ...
Which despite the name is a little past it’s prime.

There is still quite a bit of impressive scenery through which we pass

Until it’s time to do the dinner thing again and then spend the final hour or so packing up and reorganising for the taxi ride to the hotel. The train is actually early, our hotel is nearby and the taxi driver speaks English for a change so by 11 o’clock order seems to be restored to the world and hopefully a good nights sleep will improve my condition even further.
